From June 1 to 4, in line with the principles of “unleashing internal potential, promoting mutual growth through teaching and learning, using competitions to boost learning, and integrating learning with practice,” Honhstar Waterproof conducted vocational skills training on modified bitumen waterproofing membranes for all its sales personnel. To ensure the smooth running of the competition, the company promptly carried out standardized renovation and upgrading of the practical training base in accordance with relevant standards, equipping it with 10 sets of imported construction tools for modified bitumen waterproofing membranes and 76 models.

This training program is divided into three main components: theoretical instruction, hands-on practice, and a skills competition, with instruction provided by industry veteran Feng Shengli and specially appointed instructors. Theoretical training is conducted in the company’s conference room, while hands-on training and the skills competition are held at the company’s practical training facility.

The theoretical section focuses on the fundamental knowledge of modified asphalt waterproofing membranes, as well as advanced construction concepts and techniques.
During the hands-on training, specially appointed instructors provided on-site explanations and demonstrations of standardized construction procedures, thoroughly detailing the features and proper usage of each tool while highlighting common habitual errors and improper practices encountered during construction. In accordance with the instructors’ guidance, the staff members broke down the procedures into individual steps, formed small groups for practice, and engaged in diligent, hands-on training.

To better evaluate the effectiveness of the hands-on training, the company organized a vocational skills competition on the morning of June 4. The competition included two tasks: full-surface application of asphalt roofing membranes using the hot-melt method and detailing work at parapets. Judges objectively and impartially scored each contestant based on safety precautions, preparatory work, material welding, laying quality, and overall proficiency. Following intense competition, the final results were announced: four first-prize winners, six second-prize winners, and eleven third-prize winners.

“Developing solid competencies, mastering exceptional skills, cultivating a rigorous work ethic, and building a high-caliber team” are the very objectives of this training and skills competition. All participants truly embodied the spirit of “sweating and bleeding but never shedding tears; sacrificing skin and flesh but never falling behind,” thereby exemplifying the indomitable spirit of an elite force. Taking this skills competition as our starting point, we will institutionalize vocational skills training and strive to build a comprehensive, multi-skilled team with deep professional knowledge and outstanding operational capabilities, so that we can deliver even higher-quality services to every client and project through rock-solid expertise and refined construction techniques.
