Recently, the Weifang Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued the “Notice on Announcing the List of Engineering Laboratories (Engineering Research Centers) Recognized in Weifang in 2020”. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the “Administrative Measures for Engineering Laboratories in Weifang”, and after recommendations from various counties and cities as well as expert review and demonstration, the Weifang Self-Repairing Waterproof System Engineering Laboratory undertaken by Honhstar Company has successfully passed the recognition.
“The Self-healing Waterproofing System” is a landmark achievement independently developed by Honhstar Waterproof. This system not only demonstrates the R&D and improvement of waterproof materials, but also reflects innovations in the structural design and construction techniques of waterproofing systems. Since 2014, the company has continuously conducted research and exploration. After six years of practice and innovation, the design concept, material combination, and construction techniques of the “Self-healing Waterproofing System” have become increasingly sophisticated and mature.
The recent approval of the Weifang Municipal Engineering Laboratory represents a strong endorsement of the company’s R&D capabilities and marks another significant achievement for the company, following its earlier approvals in 2017 of the China Building Waterproof Association’s Standardization Laboratory, the Weifang Municipal “One Enterprise, One Technology” R&D Center, and the Enterprise Technology Center—each a specialized R&D platform. The establishment of this municipal-level platform will provide robust support for talent development, scientific research, and the commercialization of research outcomes related to the company’s self-healing waterproofing system, thereby ensuring the successful advancement and upgrading of this technology. It also lays a solid foundation for the company’s subsequent application to establish a provincial-level engineering laboratory.
According to reports, the Weifang Municipal Engineering Laboratory is organized and accredited by the Weifang Municipal Development and Reform Commission. Established with the support of enterprises, research institutions, or higher education institutions, it serves as a research and development platform aimed at enhancing industries’ capacity for independent innovation and core competitiveness, facilitating industrial structural adjustment, and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading. As an important channel for translating basic research findings into engineering and technological applications, the laboratory constitutes a vital component of Weifang’s independent innovation system.
