Trade Union | Honhstar Trade Union Awarded the “Shouguang City May Day Labor Award”
On the morning of April 28, at the 2021 Shouguang City Conference to Celebrate International Labor Day on May 1 and to Mobilize for the “Making Contributions during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period and Striving for a New Journey” Theme Labor and Skills Competition, the Honhstar Waterproof Trade Union was honored with the “Shouguang City May 1 Labor Award.”
On the morning of April 28, at the 2021 Shouguang City Conference to Commemorate International Labor Day on May 1 and to Mobilize for the “Making Contributions during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period and Striving for a New Journey” Theme Labor and Skills Competition, the Honhstar Waterproof Trade Union was awarded the honorable title of “Shouguang City May 1 Labor Award.”



Labor is the most glorious.
According to reports, the “May Day Labor Medal” is a prestigious honor conferred by the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions on enterprises, institutions, government agencies, and social organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics, and it is one of the highest awards bestowed upon the Chinese working class.
The award of the “May 1 Labor Medal of Shouguang City” is an affirmation by the Shouguang City Federation of Trade Unions of Honhstar’s trade union for its years of hard work, the result of the union’s continuous concern for employees’ lives and emphasis on the company’s own development, and also the outcome of its active service to surrounding villages and willingness to assume social responsibility.
Since its establishment, the Honhstar Waterproof Union has been committed to building the union organization, setting up a union chairman and subcommittees for organization, publicity, women workers, and culture and sports, and continuously improving the union’s infrastructure by establishing a staff home.

Regular annual collective wage negotiations are conducted to safeguard employees’ rights and interests. Union dues are paid in full and on time, and the company actively fulfills its social responsibilities. The health of employees is a top priority, with ongoing efforts to improve their living and working environments. In 2020, the union organized a summer “Cooling Relief” campaign, and last December arranged comprehensive health check-ups for all company employees. On National Day, logistics management personnel were taken on a tour to Lushan Mountain in Zibo, and a series of cultural and sports activities were held to celebrate the New Year in 2021. The company also makes generous financial contributions and donations of goods to support surrounding rural communities; during the Double Ninth Festival, edible oil, eggs, milk, millet, and other items were distributed to residents aged 70 and above in Sanyi Village.












It has repeatedly been awarded honorary titles such as “Advanced Grassroots Trade Union” and “Model Unit for Collective Wage Negotiation” by the Shouguang City Federation of Trade Unions.


In the next phase of work, the Honhstar Trade Union will further promote the spirit of model workers and the spirit of craftsmanship, further strengthen its sense of mission and responsibility, cherish its honor, forge ahead with determination, and always adhere to the business philosophy of “achieving common success and win-win results,” so as to make new and greater contributions to the sustainable development of Shouguang.
